Anime Reviews:

When Posting your review, please give your name, enter the subject of the review as you'd like it to appear on the review page, and give a rating from between 1 to 10 stars. Also please include number of episodes under review for a series or OVA, and running time for movies. Then feel free to write your review however you want to - however, if you would like a few suggestions to help get you started, feel free to read ahead, or just ignore them. It's all good :)

When writing a review for a movie or series, there are several things you can do to help make a more cohesive and comprehensible review.

Organize your review into sections. Develop each segment fully and continue on.
For example:
a.)Introduction to the anime - intro and background story, basic synopsis that will not spoil the story for first time viewers. This is a good place to introduce what the anime is all about. Try to touch on genre, setting, main character/s, and what makes this anime unique. It will provide a better framework for the reader to understand your conclusions.

b.)After the intro and the basic summary, try getting a little more indepth about the main character/s. What's the motivation? Here is a good place to begin interjecting some opinion. Did you like how the characters were developed? Did the voice acting make you believe them or make you wish Tom Servo and Crow were next to you so that full justice could be hurled upon them?

c.)Besides just the summary and characters, there are other aspects to look into. How does this movie compare with others? Is the cinematography fluid or forced? What's the anime style like - superdeformed or ultra realistic? Does the cheesy j-pop in the background enhance the mood, or is there a dramatic symphonal piece that makes you cheer like you cheered for Darth Vader! Um... wait.. I mean, boo Darth Vader... yeeeaaaah. Tossing a few names around is also a plus - try to mention the director and producer, who the main voice actors were, and what else they worked on.

d.)In the end, summarize your conclusions and make a statement on how worthwhile the movie or series is. Give another pro and con, and then sum it up with a score on a scale of ten stars, for those people who just HAVE to have stars.

So, in review:
*Introduce the anime.
*Provide a framework of time and setting, genre and the main character.
*Provide a basic summary of the anime's background and story.
*Show how this anime fits its genre by story elements or setting.
*Explain similarities or differences to comparable animes, and explain why those characteristics are good or bad.
*Delve into more technical aspects of cinematography, anime design, music, and how all of these affect the mood, especially your opinion of their effect.
*Toss a few important names of the people who worked on the anime and some other examples of their work.
*Summarize your conclusions about the film.
*Mention the biggest pro and con.
*Sum it with a score on a scale of 1 to 10 stars.

And there ya go! You're done, so send me your review and I'll post it hoppity-boppity!
